Grade Average Calculator
Enter your module grades and credit values to get your weighted average and UK degree class.
How it works
Weighted average = Σ(grade × credits) ÷ Σ(credits). This accounts for modules worth different amounts of your degree. UK degree classes: 70%+ = First, 60–69% = 2:1, 50–59% = 2:2, 40–49% = Third, below 40% = Fail.
Frequently asked questions
Do I enter percentages or letter grades?
Enter percentage marks (e.g. 72, not A or B). Most UK universities use percentage marking.
What if my modules have equal weighting?
Enter the same credit value (e.g. 20) for all modules — the weighted average will equal a simple average.
